Sirens (Ladies)

“Excellence is the gradual result of always striving to do better”

THE GAFFER

Manea Sirens Ladies Football Club was formed in 2018 with the aim of creating a safe space for the women of the village to get fit and have fun. Since then the club has attracted experienced and new players from the surrounding areas with the same ethos to create what is now known as the #sirensspirit

The ladies entered their first competitive league in 2021/2022 and despite finishing bottom, the ladies were commended by other teams for their mindset of never giving up. They took on every opponent with the same ‘can do’ attitude and were awarded with 1-1 draw in the penultimate game.

Going into the 22/23 season the ladies completed a 15 week summer camp designed to improve fitness, footballing skills and tactical development.

The Improvement showed by the ladies finishing 7th in the league with several wins under their belt.

The summer camp returned ahead of the 23/24 season and the ladies continued to demonstrate the Sirens spirit #BeMoreManea beating 2 division 2 sides to make the quarter finals of the cup. An expected loss to Cambridge United under 18s ended the cup run but what a season we had.

Having more than enough players going into 24/25 season, the committee took the bold decision to form 2 teams, one for Division 2 and one for Division 3, spreading the Manea spirit far and wide. To become part this amazing journey, please contact us if you would like to join the fun bus.
